Exact solutions of the 2D Ginzburg-Landau equation by the first integral method
The first integral method is an efficient method for obtaining exact solutions of some nonlinear partial differential equations. This method can be applied to non integrable equations as well as to integrable ones. In this paper, the first integral method is used to construct exact solutions of the 2D Ginzburg-Landau equation.
متن کاملGlobal Modes for the Complex Ginzburg-landau Equation
Linear global modes, which are time-harmonic solutions with vanishing boundary conditions, are analysed in the context of the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation with slowly varying coefficients in doubly infinite domains. The most unstable modes are shown to be characterized by the geometry of their Stokes line network: they are found to generically correspond to a configuration with two turning ...
متن کاملGlobal Existence via Ginzburg-Landau Formalism and Pseudo-Orbits of Ginzburg-Landau Approximations
The so-called Ginzburg-Landau formalism applies for parabolic systems which are defined on cylindrical domains, which are close to the threshold of instability, and for which the unstable Fourier modes belong to non-zero wave numbers. This formalism allows to describe an attracting set of solutions by a modulation equation, here the Ginzburg-Landau equation. If the coefficient in front of the c...
متن کاملThe Complex Ginzburg-landau Equation∗
Essential to the derivation of the Ginzburg-Landau equation is assumption that the spatial variables of the vector field U(x, y, t) are defined on a cylindrical domain. This means that (x, y) ∈ R ×Ω, where Ω ⊂ R is a open and bounded domain (and m ≥ 1, n ≥ 0), so that U : R ×Ω×R+ → R . The N ×N constant coefficient matrix Sμ is assumed to be non-negative, in the sense that all its eigenvalues a...
متن کاملSynchronized disorder in a 2D complex Ginzburg-Landau equation
The phenomenon of spiral pair synchronization by oscillating strips (Nozaki-Bekki solution) in a 2D CGLE is investigated analytically. The equations describing the interaction of the strips with one another and with spirals are derived. Analysis of the equations shows that under certain conditions the strips lead to frequency and phase locking of the spirals. In this case the spiral pair (dipol...
